A New Orleans man says he’s been staying at the Walt Disney World theme park in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and other natural disasters.
Mark Kallman was on vacation in the Caribbean city when the storm hit, but decided to stay at the Magic Kingdom for four weeks to prepare for the next one.
He says he spent about $2,000 at a park that has about 200 rides and shows, including the Star Wars ride.
The Florida man, who works in real estate, said he spends a lot of time out in the desert and hasn’t visited Disney World in years.
He said he has had trouble sleeping in hotels, and was concerned that he would fall asleep in his room if he stayed there too long.
But, he said, he is in a “Disneylandcation” and he is staying at Disney World for the four weeks.
